Rob Roy gaffer aims to be a transfer Del Boy in bid to beat blues

RABS manager Jimmy Lindsay is aiming to do some wheeling and dealing in the transfer window to help tackle his side’s injury list.

Four players are plagued with injuries including striker Michael Fulton, skipper Alan Lindsay, central defender Robert Donnelly and midfielder Jamie Doyle – leaving the Rabs with few playing options.

Lindsay said: “It is just one of these things and a few of the players have been carrying long-term injuries.

“We do not want to be left with a one-man-on-the-bench situation so we will be looking to do a bit of business during the transfer window.”

Beith defeated the Rabs 2-1 at Bellsdale Park on Saturday after a controversial second-half penalty decision was made in their favour.

Rob Roy will be hoping to pick up three league points against Ashfield at Saracen Park on Saturday – kick-off is at 1.45pm.

Lindsay said: “The league is still very open. We will be looking to get the points on Saturday.

“The problem for some teams, who have games in hand, is that it will get to a point were they may need to play three games in one week to catch up – and that will take it’s toll.”

The Rabs were put to the test last Tuesday when they took on Third Division side Alloa Athletic.

Although they lost 2-1, the game served its purpose in exposing Lindsay’s side to professional football.

They were due to be put to the test once more against Clyde this week.
