Rob Roy look to win friendlies
Jimmy Lindsay, Rob Roy manager
ROB Roy supporters will be hoping that their team can turn some impressive form in bounce games into league points this weekend.
On Saturday Rabs earned the latest in a series of morale-boosting friendly victories - running out 4-2 winners over Falkirk Juniors.
In contrast, Jimmy Lindsay’s team have had a few disappointing league results of late, which have seen them drop to seventh in the league table.
But the gaffer hopes they can get things back on track with a win against league strugglers Cumnock this weekend.
He told the Herald: “It was good to get a win against Falkirk, but the most important thing for me is to give our newer players some game time to help them gel together.
“We’re getting that now and the team are also getting fitter.
“It doesn’t guarantee victories of course, but when you are getting goals coming from several different areas it has to be a positive thing.
“It doesn’t matter who the opposition are - the boys still have to get out there and beat them and I hope they can do the same on Saturday.”
Rob Roy next take on Cumnock Juniors at Townhead Park this Saturday. Kick-off is at 2pm.
