DETERMINED Petershill have a tough task this Saturday, but a full squad to call on.

Peasy take on Ashfield at Saracen Park and co-manager Scott Smith insists there is nothing between the two teams.

He said: “It will be a tough game against Ashfield. We will do all we can to get the three points as you have to if you have aspirations to win the league.

“There is nothing between the two teams, but we have no injury worries and a full squad of players to choose from so there are no complaints.”

Peasy’s game against Beith at Bellsdale Park – and many other matches on the junior card – were called off last Saturday because of bad weather.

Smith said: “It was a late call, a very late call. We got told the game would not be going ahead at 12.30pm so we were disappointed, but it was not unexpected.”

Smith is hopeful that the game against Beith can be played sooner rather than later to prevent his side facing a backlog of games.

He said: “The junior fixtures just now are being organised very much on a week-to-week basis because of the weather.

“I imagine we will play Beith sooner rather than later.

“They are out of the Scottish Cup so I can’t see any problems with us rearranging that fixture.”
