Hotshots urged to get fired up

Rob Roy will be gunning for goals when they travel to Dunterlie Park take on Arthurlie this Saturday.

Rabs gaffer John Richardson has called on his young side to pull on their shooting boots in a bid to fire the club as high up the league table as possible.

Another fine performance at Adamslie Park on Saturday saw Rabs earn a point against third-placed Pollok, in a match the Kirkintilloch team could have won.

Richardson said: “We should have beaten them. It was a good point considering the way the other results went.

“The boys are playing well without killing teams off, but you’re always going to get that with a team where the average age is around 21.”

With so many fixtures still to be fulfilled because of the repeated cancellation of games over winter, Richardson says his priority very much remains the bread and butter of league football.

As of mid-April, Rob Roy have played just over half the league season and still have 10 league games left.

Meanwhile, Rabs have formally released defender Brian Wardle, but have signed fellow defender Brian Mulgrew, who has left Lugar Boswell Thistle.
