Campsie Minerva 1

Harestanes 7

Harestanes showed great determination to go out and win this League Cup tie.

It took Hares eight minutes to hit the back of the net. There was great closing down from McLaughlin, Minerva could only clear the ball to Welsh who rolled it into Fitzsimmons, and he found the back of the net.

On the 13th minute Fitzsimmons was at it again when Harestanes were awarded a free-kick.

From 30 yards out Fitzsimmons curled the ball round the wall and into the bottom left hand corner. Harestanes continued to press and on the 20th minute they again found the net.

A great cut back from McLauglin found Welsh and he directed the ball into the roof of the net. As the half ended, Campsie were reduced to ten men.

Straight from the second half kick-off Harestanes added a fourth. Broadfoot took a short corner to Cairney. He took it on his left and found the inside corner of the net, giving the keeper no chance.

In the 65th minute Fitzsimmons found Broadfoot, he spun away and rolled the ball across the 18 yard line for Cairney to slot home into the bottom right hand corner.

Five minutes later Campsie pulled a goal back as poor defending gave the forward a chance to have a strike and find

the net.

In the 80th minute the game spiralled out of control as Campsie had another three players sent off in two minutes. This left them with only seven players on the park.

After this Harestanes were awarded with two penalties that McClune and Fitzsimmons comfortably slotted into the back of the net.

Overall a very strong performance from Harestanes and a well deserved win.
