ROSSVALE under-13’s dream of Scottish Cup glory in their first competitive season has been extinguished at the semi-final stage.

Adamslie Park was the venue for the recent match, which saw the Bishopbriggs team slip to a 2-0 defeat to rivals Linwood Rangers.

It was a disappointing result - with a goal on the cusp of half time and a second added 10 minutes from the final whistle.

Manager Gary McLeod said: “We were gutted with the result and I think the boys were maybe a wee bit nervous in front of the crowds because it wasn’t one of their best performances.

“It was a bad time to lose the first goal and, if it had been us that scored, it could have all been very different.

“We certainly created as many chances as them but the ball just didn’t seem to fall for us.”

He added: “Having said that the boys have done fantastically well to get to the semi-final in their first season, playing some of the top teams to get there.

“The whole club are proud of them and the experience of the cup run will stand them in good stead for future seasons.”
