PE Teacher given pivotal role in 2012 London Olympics

A PE teacher is hoping to make a difference during the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Hilary MacGuire is under starters orders after being selected as a ‘Games Maker’ for the prestigious event.

Hilary, who teaches at Lenzie Academy, will be a member of the equipment team, ensuring athletes have all they need at the Olympic stadium.

The Lenzie Academy teacher, from Milton of Campsie, has been involved with athletics from the age of 12 and has competed for Scotland in sprint hurdle events.

She said: “I’m really excited to be taking part. I was there for the opening of the new stadium. It’s awesome and a legacy for the future.”

The Olympic Games run from July 27 to August 12.
