Rob Roy produced their worst performance of the season, coming second best in all departments against a more determined Petershill team and in the end were a well beaten side.

Rabs got off to a flying start when, in the fourth minute, Carter sent a long ball into the Petershill penalty box to be headed into his own net by defender Chisolm.

Morton and Sawyers were working well together in attack but unable to create chances. Then in the ninth minute the Springburn side levelled when Burke strode through a couple of half-hearted challenges to drive the ball past home keeper Connolly.

In a period of attacking Rob Roy play, Ronald sent a decent effort inches past the post then minutes later Jarvis was unlucky to see his shot cannon off the woodwork after good leading up work from Sawyers.

Peasy took the lead in the 22nd minute when Burke was downed in the box by Watt. Palmer made no mistake with the spot-kick.

On the half hour mark Morton’s header sailed just wide of the target before the game developed into a midfield battle as the weather deteriorated and the ground conditions became more difficult.

Four minutes before the break, Petershill strengthened their hold on the game when Mackie rose above the Rabs defence to powerfully head a Burke free-kick into the net.

Rabs made a substitution at half time, sending on Smith for Watt who had been given a torrid 45 first half minutes by Peasy wide player Burke.

The visitors increased their lead five minutes into the second half when Mackie rose unchallenged at the back post to nod home a Burke corner kick for his second goal of the match.

In the 55th minute, Mitchell connected with a Ronald corner but his shot was kicked off the line by Chisolm.

Then, at the other end, Connolly did well to block a Burke shot after the winger ran through a static Rabs defence.

As the match entered its late stages, Finnigan brought out a fine save from Connolly as the Rabs defence again looked vulnerable against the speedy Peasy attack.

Rabs had a couple of half-chances in the final minutes scrambled clear but it was Petershill who ran out comfortable winners.
