ROB Roy have appointed former Albion Rovers manager Jimmy Lindsay as the new boss at Adamslie Park.

Lindsay takes over from John Richardson who resigned at the beginning of May after five years in charge.

Lindsay, a former Premier League footballer with Motherwell who earned a Scotland under-21 cap in a match versus the USA at Pittodrie in 1978, has been Academy Director at Raith Rovers since April, 2007.

The 52-year-old played for Petershill Juniors between 1982 and 1985.

Rob Roy General Secretary Charlie O’Brien said: “It’s a step away from the usual. His CV shows great focus with youth development and that’s what we want when we move to the new park.”
