ROSSVALE FC 2
ROYAL ALBERT 0
Rossvale kicked-off their first home game of the season in front of a good home support looking to carry on from their success last week to keep them top of the league.
It took till the 7th minute before they managed to get their first shot on goal and it came from a cross from the wing which was brought down by Team who set up Hepburn, but his shot went narrowly past.
This was quickly followed by a Gamba shot which was turned round the post for a corner.
It was the 13th minute before Albert got a shot on goal but it resulted in Rossvale breaking up the park and Winters setting up Team, whose shot brought out a good save from Stevenson in the Albert goal.
Possibly the best move of the first half came in the 14th minute when a lovely passing move started from an Ardalane throw in to Winters, who played back to Ardalane whose shot was put out for a corner from which Team picked out Hepburn whose shot flew past the post from 25 yards.
Royal Albert made a rare visit into Rossvale’s half when they got a free-kick, but Bowskill easily saved on his line.
This brought the first half to a finish with the score still at 0-0.
Rossvale started off the second half the way they finished first and it paid off in the 55th minute when a lovely piece of inter-passing between four players left Hepburn on his own to slot past the advancing keeper from close in to make it 1-0.
Royal Albert immediately went into attack from kick off and got two corners but still couldn’t find the net.
They nearly scored in 58th minute when they were awarded a throw in which resulted in a very long throw nearly catching out Bowskill at his near post.
Rossvale replied when Winters set Team up and his shot hit the post.
Again Albert came back and when Rossvale committed themselves to attack Albert’s McLachlan broke up the park and the chasing McQuarrie was unfortunate to trip him, which resulted in a straight red card for being the last man.
Albert nearly scored from the resulting free kick, but Bowskill pulled off a great save.
Again Albert tried their specialist long throw routine in the 80th minute which a Rossvale defender had to head past for a corner and again Bowskill came to the rescue with a very good save from resulting corner.
Robbie Winters took the pressure off his team in the 87th minute with an inch perfect pass to Gordon to score from close in to make the final result 2-0 to Rossvale.
Next weekend Rossvale make the long journey to Forth, which could prove to be a good test to their recent good run of results.
