SPORTS fans are being offered a fang-tastic treat this Saturday (October 26) when Glasgow Roller Derby (GRD) holds its traditional Hallowe’en bout against Rainy City Roller Girls.

Family fun and sporting thrills are on offer at the ARC sportscentre in Glasgow as GRD’s A team - the Irn Bruisers - take on the cream of the crop from Manchester’s Rainy City.

Will the Bruisers weather the storm and bring the thunder or will Rainy City make a splash in Glasgow? The teams clashed last Hallowe’en, when the Irn Bruisers edged out their English counterparts 158-139.

Full-on derby action is guaranteed, with added Hallowe’en excitement - including prizes for best costumes, face painting and a scrumptious cake stall.

A spokeswoman for GRD said: “Join us for truly spook-tacular sporting fun with our friends from Rainy City Roller Girls.

“There will be fireworks a little earlier this year when the two sides clash. It’s going to be an enthralling contest - with the added attraction of fab fancy dress costumes.

“Remember there will be prizes for the best outfits, refreshments, face painting and more. Make sure you get your ticket now to avoid missing out - free entry for under-14s.

“This is your chance to see world-class roller derby right here in Glasgow. It’s going to be full-on thrills and spills from the first whistle to the last - including tricks, treats, guts and glory.”

The Irn Bruisers take on Rainy City Roller Girls at the ARC, Glasgow Caledonian University, Cowcaddens Road, Glasgow, G4 0BA – this Saturday (October 26) – 12.30pm (bout starts at 1pm).

Get your tickets in advance from www.glasgowrollerderby.com for only £5 (£7 on the door).
