THE West of Scotland league has already proved after four games that it is one of the most competitive leagues in the country.

At Station Road on Saturday, Blackies had to wait until the 90th minute to take the points. Watch as a side were impressive, but they could not make the breakthrough despite creating chances at different stages of the game. The visitors made it difficult with a strong defensive display.

However, the only goal of the game was brilliant. Taking a pass from McGeough, Chris Duff volleyed a 25 yard strike that went high over keeper Wright's outstretched hands.

Watch: D Cawley, G Watt, W Whiteford, J Boal, A Forrest, P McGeough, J Darroch, A Culbard, L Finnigan, D Cairney, M Oliver, C Reid, S Davies, W Ross, J McCluskey, C Duff, M Clarke.

On Thursday night, Watch defeated Baillieston 2-0 in a league game at Hamilton Palace Grounds.

This was tough for the Watch as the home side were very determined. Blackies had to wait until the 67th minute to go ahead. A long throw from Boal was headed out to Darroch on the edge of the box by McGeough, and Watch's captain hit a great strike past the home keeper.

Paul McGeough's header from Duff's corner secured the points in the 80th minute. Watch players responded exceptionally well after a difficult week for the club.
