Young athletes race to gala success

HUNDREDS of the district's best young athletes pulled on their running shoes to take part in this year's Kirkintilloch Gala Week Primary Schools Track Meeting.

On form Lenzie Moss overcame stiff opposition to win for the second successive year, but less than five points separated the top three schools.

The popular event at Merkland Outdoor Centre was organised by Kirkintilloch Olympians and took place on Thursday, June 11.

Final Results:-

1st: Lenzie Moss (129.5 points)

2nd: Millersneuk (126.5)

3rd: St. Flannan's (125)

4th: Holy Family (114)

5th: Oxgang (103)

6th: Lairdsland (87)

7th: Gartconner (80)
