A TELEVISION announcer can’t wait to work the nightshift after securing his latest gig on STV.

Cameron McKenna (42) has been in broadcasting and radio since his teens and recently clinched the coveted announcers role on STV’s ‘The Nightshift.’

Cameron, who enjoys banter with viewers throughout his shift on the 2am to 5.30am show, grew up in Glasgow’s East End and moved to Auchinloch two years ago, where he has been visited by the likes of TV pals Colin and Justin and Eastenders Dot Cotton, actress June Brown.

He said: “I wouldn’t class it work, I just get to speak in between the programmes – climbing ladders and scaffolding is a job. The viewers keep you going through the night with their texts and calls.

“We get a lot of people from Kirkintilloch and Lenzie getting in touch, which is great.”
