Montreal-based band The Barr Brothers gave a stunning performance at Glasgow’s Tron Theatre on Saturday night.
The gig was part of the Celtic Connections Festival currently running at venues across the city.
From the moment the band stepped on stage they delivered one mesmerizing song after another.
A mixture of atmospheric landscapes, folky acoustic numbers and some rip roaring blues - there was something in the set list for everyone to enjoy.
The band’s latest album, Sleeping Operator, was heavily featured thoughout the show, but they also pulled in one or two classics from their first album, simply titled The Barr Brothers.
Stunning versions of songs such as Beggar in the Morning, Ooh Belle, Love Ain’t Enough and Come in the Water had the crowd calling for more.
As far as concerts go, and taking into account it’s still only January, the Barr Brothers show is definitely a contender for gig of the year. Check them out on Youtube or get their new CD.
