Similarly the S6 pre-appeal awards at Higher level this year record an increase in all measures, and this achievement builds on the outstanding success in 2012.
Students from S1 through to S6 have also achieved over 8,100 nationally accredited awards recognising wider achievements such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, and the pass rate for vocational courses is 90.1 per cent for this year.
All secondary schools in the authority offer vocational programmes which are delivered in school adapted facilities in partnership with local colleges.
