Another five for Gers
Friendly
ANOTHER pre-season friendly against East Region opposition and it ended exactly as last week’s game did with a 5-1 win, this time at home against Livingstone Juniors.
Although a comfortable win on paper, but this time Rangers had to work a little harder for the result.

Hide AdIt was a gloriously sunny afternoon for the game and Rangers opened just as brightly, playing some attractive passing football.
The first attempt on goal came from Ryan Carr, who put in a good 25-yard shot on the run, but it slipped just wide of the post.
Rangers did go ahead after 20 minutes though, Nimmo, firing in a fine header from a corner kick.
Livingstone replied with Payne putting in a fine curling shot which also was very close.

Ten minutes from the interval a Rangers’ free-kick in from the far touchline was helped on its way to the net by the head of a defender and Rangers were two up from the own-goal.
The opening spell of the second period was all Rangers and it was not long before they went further ahead, Dempsey hitting the back of the net only three minutes in to the half.
A little later and Ryan Carr went on a run, beating at least four defenders before stroking the ball past the advancing keeper.

Opponents
This was a good win but again their opponents were not of the highest calibre and stiffer opposition no doubt awaits.
The opening game in the Sectional League Cup is tonight (Wednesday), at Dunipace, kick-off 6.45pm.
On Saturday, Rangers are away to new entrants to the West Region, Rossvale Juniors, kick-off 2pm.
