Brian Johnston quits as Lanark United manager
LANARK United manager Brian Johnston resigned after Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Renfrew left United pointless at the foot of Central Division One.
Johnston – whose foreign work commitments with electronics giant Philips meant he often missed training sessions – quit after Lanark’s fourth league loss out of four.
After accepting Johnston’s resignation, the United committee moved quickly to install a replacement by appointing the vastly experienced John Brogan (60).
