Voiding of West of Scotland League looks imminent
The Carluke and Lanark Gazette has learned that this decision was taken partly due to so many West clubs having played so few games this season when the campaign was postponed over two months ago, making any resumption to play a full season impossible due to the challenge of trying to fit in several fixtures within a very short time period.
As if the current uncertainty surrounding any return of West of Scotland League football in the immediate future wasn’t unsettling enough, Conference C outfit Lanark United received a further blow recently when boozed up vandals struck at their Moor Park ground.

Hide AdDamage was done to the pitch and pavilion, which was strewn with discarded alcohol bottles and smoking paraphernalia, seeing the restoration of police patrols there.
Lanark gaffer Jamie McKenzie said: “I just don’t see the mindset of people.
"There are people at this small community club who really try their best and it’s a small number of young people who’ve gone and done that (the vandalism).
"What joy they get out of that I have absolutely no idea. It’s disgusting. We need the support of local people not that kind of stuff.”
