The anticipated investment from Persimmon will transform the former business park site on Marina Way as well as delivering much-needed facilities for the community.

In addition to ensuring 25 per cent (21) of the properties will be delivered as affordable homes, Persimmon’s scheme also contains a number of Section 75 contributions.

These include £300,000 towards education, £325,000 for new employment premises, £67,000 has also been ear-marked for upgrades to open spaces in the area.

A further £105,000 will be used to improve the A803 /A806 to mitigate congestion that may arise from the commercial units adjacent to the development.

Chris Logan, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “This is an exciting development that will not only provide much needed new homes it will also breathe economic life into the area and lay the foundations for a thriving new neighbourhood.

“A development of this scale has the potential to support and create hundreds of jobs – both those directly employed in the construction of the site, and indirectly through the supply chain and additional spending within the local community.

“Our plans include homes to suit a range of buyers, from those looking to get on the property ladder for the first time to families seeking more space as they grow.

Kirkintilloch is a popular residential choice, and we believe that interest in the new homes will be positive amongst local buyers.

“Being close to Woodhead Park, local shops and Kirkintilloch leisure centre make the homes that little bit more appealing and our sales team is looking forward to sharing details of the house styles and benefits with house hunters looking to put down roots in the area.”
