Are you ready to go wild for Clyde 1 Live?

SUGABABES and Olly Murs are the latest names to be announced for Clyde 1 ‘s big gig – Clyde 1 Live – on September 30 at the SECC.

They join Jessie J and Pixie Lott on what looks set to be a killer bill.

Don’t miss this week’s Herald for the chance to win a pair tickets for the event. There are three pairs up for grabs.

Clyde 1 Live is a celebration of great music radio in Scotland and will bring together some of the hottest chart acts who regularly feature on the Number 1 radio station for Glasgow and the West.

There are few acts with as big a back-catalogue of monster hits as Sugababes ... from ‘Overload’ to ‘Push The Button’ via ‘Round Round’ and ‘Red Dress’, the Sugababes brand is synonmous with the very best in UK pop.

Jade, Amelle and Heidi will be heading for Scotland to perform a selection of their best-loved hits to date as well as the brand new single, ‘Freedom’.

Having found a new home with Sony Music UK, the girls are itching to get back out on the road and show everyone what the new line-up really has to offer.

The super-sexy triumverate are hot to trot on September 30 and can’t wait to hook up with their Scottish fans again, who they say are, by far, the loudest in the world.

It’s been an incredible 12 months for Olly Murs which began with a debut number one single, ‘Please Don’t let Me Go’ last August followed up by a double-platinum, self-titled debut album.

A second album is already in the offing for release this side of Christmas which will see him move away from pop reggae to a new ‘White Soul Boy’ sound and further establish him as a potential successor to Robbie Williams.

The first single off the album – the highly-infectious Rizzle Kicks collaboration ‘Heart Skips a Beat’ – has already scaled the top of the charts and seems set to be his biggest hit to date.

And, with Olly now installed as co-presenter of ITV2’s Xtra Factor, it’s unlikely he’ll be out of the limelight any time soon.

Siobhan Crampsey, Head of Events at gig organisers Bauer Media, says: “Olly and Sugababes are fantastic additions to the Clyde 1 Live bill ... we couldn’t be more pleased about how the show is shaping up.

“We’ve done no less than 11 show with Sugababes in the past and every time they totally exceed expectations – both in terms of the quality of their vocals and the passion and effort they put into their performance.

“Olly’s just one of those artists who is the complete package – he can sing, write, dance and he engages the audience in a really genuine way. Although perhaps the comparisons aren’t fair – he’s just like Robbie in that women fancy him and men want to go for a pint with him.”
