INTERNATIONAL songwriting sensation Amy Macdonald raised £10,000 by playing a gruelling five gigs in one day.

Amy, from Bishopbriggs, performed the gigs across Scotland as part of this year’s STV Appeal.

Her new album – ‘Life In A Beautiful Light’ – has topped the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Amy is so popular in Germany that the coach of the national side recently revealed at Euro 2012 he listens to her music to relax before big games!

The singer-songwriter recently appeared on ‘Loose Women’, ‘Alan Carr’s Summer Specstacular’ and featured in a documentary – ‘The Amy Macdonald Story’ – on Channel 5.

Amy told fans: “I want to say a massive thank-you to everyone who has bought the album.

“I feel so honoured to be in this position and your support is absolutely amazing.

“I have been super busy over the past few months travelling all over the UK and Europe and I am excited for the festival season to start so I can finally get out and play the new songs live.”
