People of all ages attending the annual Woodhill Family Fun Day are in for a musical treat this Sunday (September 22).

Fresh from appearing with Wet Wet Wet star Graeme Duffin at Glasgow’ s Centre for Contemporary Arts, talented 17-year-old Jasmine is set to entertain families with her soulful lyrics and talented guitar playing.

Jasmine’s appearance is just one of the many attractions at the event being held in Etive Park.

This year, to celebrate next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, parents will be able to find out about local sports available in Bishopbriggs while their children have the chance to have a go at a range of activities, from lawn bowls to track cycling.

There will also be a mobile climbing wall, allowing children to challenge themselves to climb to over 30 metres as well as the ever popular bouncy castles.

And Dominos Pizzas will be handing out free pizza to local residents.

Donald Macdonald – chairman of Woodhill Residents’ Group, who have been running the event for the past six years – said: “Every year we try to expand and improve this event.

“Jasmine’s appearance is a bit of a coup as I’m sure she will be a big star very soon.

“It would be great for people coming along to be able to say they saw her performing here before she hits the big time.

“The only reason we can’t say she’s Bishopbriggs’ answer to Amy Macdonald is because Amy comes from Bishopbriggs already!”

The Woodhill Family Fun Day starts at 1pm this Sunday in Etive Park which is beside Menteith Avenue in Bishopbriggs.
