Bus passengers in Glasgow are being advised to allow a longer for their journeys next weekend as the Great Scottish Run takes place in the city.
First Glasgow, Scotland’s biggest bus operator, will operate a number diversions on Saturday and Sunday (October 3-4) due to the closure of a number of city centre roads being used for the 10K and half marathon race routes.
Passengers should expect travel times to be longer than usual as a result.
Fiona Kerr, managing director of First Glasgow, said: “Our services running through Glasgow city centre this weekend will have to operate differently to accommodate Scotland’s biggest running event.
“First Glasgow buses will follow route diversions with a number of roads being closed for the race to accommodate the thousands of participants. We’d ask our passengers intending to travel on our services this weekend to allow longer for their journeys and to plan ahead where possible.”
