An animal welfare charity has put out an appeal for information after an elderly Yorkshire terrier was found having a seizure in a Bishopbriggs street.

A passer-by discovered the dog on Torogay Street on Thursday evening and informed the Scottish SPCA.

The male dog is now recovering at the charity’s animal rescue and rehoming centre in Cardonald.

Centre manager Anna O’Donnell said: “We are appealing to anyone who recognises this wee chap and knows who he might belong to.

“At this stage we don’t know how he came to be found alone on the street.

“It’s possible he has gone missing and has a worried owner.

“He is an older dog and has recently had his coat clipped.

“If anyone has any information they should contact us on 03000 999 999.”
