A talented young actor from Bearsden has got a part in a Christmas advertisement for his favourite football team - Celtic FC.
Eight-year-old Gregor Selkirk, who attends St Joseph’s Primary School, Milngavie, didn’t realise that he’d be part of the Celtic FC video ‘Wish Upon A Celtic Star’ until he was selected for audition, because until then he had just been told was that it was for a major sports brand.
When he found out the advert was for his favourite football team he was thrilled.
His mum Denise, said: “He was delighted when he was told it was for the team he supports.
“He did however manage to contain his excitement and performed at the audition like the true professional he is.
“On the day of the shoot he had the best time meeting, playing football and acting with the players.
“Scott Brown was brilliant with him and they had great fun and a few laughs in their onesies, he was such a good sport.
“Gregor is flattered that the advert is being compared to the new John Lewis Christmas campaign.”
He has also been invited to Celtic park as their guest and will enjoy his day there in the new year.
Gregor, who attends Vivace Theatre School in Glasgow, is now going on to perform with them in ‘Musichoir’ at the SECC on Saturday, December 5 and following this he will then play the role of Michael in the pantomime Peter Pan at the SECC from Saturday, December 12 where he will be on stage with David Hasselhoff, The Krankies and Michelle McManus.
Gregor was also the first child to appear in a Rapture Theatre production recently - an Arthur Miller play ‘All My Sons.’
