A Bearsden teenager has been newly crowned Miss Scotland and she will also be competing in the Miss World final in America next month.
Lucy Kerr (19), a former Douglas Academy pupil, will have a year-long reign as Miss Scotland.
As part of her prize she will have all her haircare needs met by hair stylist to the stars - Taylor Ferguson.
Lucy has just left to go to the USA and Taylor and his team have been giving her special tips and advice on how to keep her crowning glory in tip top condition for the big finale in Washington DC on December 18.
Taylor who lives in Milngavie with his wife Anne has looked after Miss Scotland winners for 14 years.
His team has also looked after other big-names including Suzanne Shaw, Darius, Penny Lancaster, Lulu, Michelle Mone, Michelle McManus and Rachel Hunter.
He said: “Lucy is blessed with the most gorgeous long, flowing flame-coloured locks and we’ve ensured her hair is in its optimum condition.
“We’ve been sharing advice with her on how to keep her hair looking fabulous without too much excess heat with straighteners which of course can dry out hair.
“We’ve worked with more than a dozen Miss Scotland contest winners and we always have great fun with the winning girls. We love seeing their confidence grow as the year’s reign unfolds and they fill their diaries with exciting assignments and photo engagements.
“Lucy is a great girl and will be a stunning ambassador for Scotland and we’re hoping she can do great things in Washington DC when the Miss World finals take place in December. We’ll certainly be glued to the TV set to see how she gets on.”
Lucy said: “We’ll be having to look after our own hair a lot of the days we’re doing assignments during the competition run-up so I’ve been listening attentively to the salon team to keep me 100 per cent on track about how to ensure my hair is just right.
“Taylor and the team have been so helpful.”
