Well known Lennoxtown bard Tam Craven is heading to Bannockburn next week to release his latest book of verse
dedicated to all things

Tam’s glossy new book, simply named Bonnie Scotland, takes a contemporary look at life in Scotland in the run-up to the independence referendum.

Tam said: “It’s a big year for Scotland with the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn, the Commonwealth Games and the Independence Referendum.

“To mark the anniversary of the battle, I will be signing copies of my book in Klondyke Garden Centre in the town from Monday, June 23 until Friday, June 27.”

Part of the proceeds will go to the Multiple System Atrophy charity which supports people suffering from the incurable progressive neurodegenerative disorder.

Tam’s 2015 Bonnie Scotland calendar will be on sale too, to raise funds for the charity. Tam, who started writing poetry 16 years ago after an accident forced him to give up work, has also created a colourful poster with verse on the West Highland Way, on display to tourists along the 96-mile route.
