A Kirkintilloch woman is taking part in a charity abseil after losing two loved ones to heart disease.
Sharon Howe (45) of Waverley Park had hoped to raise £175 for Heart Stroke Scotland, but her total is currently standing at an amazing £800.
She’s now due to abseil from the Forth Bridge on Sunday, June 21,despite her fear of heights.
Sharon said: “I previously did part of the West Highland Way but that nearly killed me with the walking.
“I fancied this but the nearer it gets the more worried I am. But I have no choice,
“I don’t want to let people down.”
Sharon’s father, Derek Saunders, died 18 years ago, and her nephew Christopher, who would have been 21 this year, died at just 10 months.
