FESTIVE family fun will be unwrapped at a series of Christmas lights switch-on events - kick-starting today (Wednesday).
The atmosphere will be electric at special seasonal celebrations in Bishopbriggs, Lennoxtown, Kirkintilloch and Lenzie.
The fun gets underway in Bishopbriggs today between 3pm-5pm with a DJ, music and fairground rides in Morrisons Car Park, as well as festive fun at the library. The lights will be switched on by Provost Una Walker at 5pm.
Then on Friday in Lennoxtown there will be music and attractions at Lennoxtown Primary from 5pm-8pm.
The PTA has organised a Christmas Fayre, with a variety of stalls inside, as well as a children’s choir and ukulele orchestra, courtesy of Lennoxtown School of Music.
There will also be hot soup/beverages and kids activities in the school car park.
Meanwhile, in Kirkintilloch this Saturday, you can enjoy a host of exciting attractions from 1pm-6pm.
There will be a DJ, music, entertainment and activities in both the Regent Gardens and the Regent Centre.
There will also be fairground rides in Union Street. Council Leader Rhondda Geekie will switch on the lights at 6pm
in Regent Gardens, followed by a fabulous fireworks display. This annual event is a partnership between the Regent Centre and the council.
In Lenzie, the Christmas lights will be switched on by Gala Queen Yasmin McCotter on Saturday, December 7. at 5.30pm.
There will be carols in front of Lenzie Old Parish Church from 5pm and Santa will be making an appearance.
Afterwards, refreshments will be available in the church hall.
