PLANS for a new church hall have been given the thumbs-up by council planning chiefs.
East Dunbartonshire Council’s planning board met last week and voted to approve a planning application by Milton of Campsie Parish Church to build the new hall on the site where the Stirling Hall currently stands.
The new premises, in the village’s Lochiel Drive, will provide a cafe and a creche, as well as a new car park.
Despite five objections from neighbouring residents about loss of views and potential drainage and parking issues, the application was granted subject to conditions.
The conditions include that construction begins within three years and that tree planting and protection measures are carried out.
