Organisers of a race night, karaoke and supper at Auchinloch Bowling Club are appealing to local people to turn out to help raise cash for a cause close to their heart.
All proceeds from the fundraising event at the club on Friday, February 27, will go towards research to find a cure for Crohn’s disease.
Doreen Strachan organised the night after learning a relative of a bowling club member has the disease.
Local charity Cure Crohn’s Colitis (C3) will benefit from the proceeds of the entertaining event which will also include a spot of Greek dancing.
C3 gives 100 per cent of its funds towards medical research. Scotland has one of the highest incidences of the disease in the world, with one child a week being diagnosed at Yorkhill Hospital.
Doreen said: “We do a lot of fundraising at the club - this is the first event in aid of Crohn’s disease.
“There will be a light supper and a raffle and we hope as many people as possible will come along to support such a good cause.
“We aren’t selling tickets. We are asking people to make a donation at the door.”
Anyone who would like more information on the event should contact the club on 0141 776 3146.
