ROADWORKS being carried out as part of the M80 extension are expected to be complete by the end of the month.
Transport Scotland confirmed that Lindsaybeg Road, Chryston will be subject to temporary traffic lights until the end of the month while the workmen dig up parts of the road as part of the M80 Stepps to Haggs extension.
Drivers were confused over why the work is being carried out on a road that was only completed last year.
One driver, who did not want to be named, said: “I want to know why a road which had work done just last year is being dug up again.
“What has went wrong here?”
A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: “The works to Lindsaybeg Road are being undertaken to complete the new layout as part of the M80 scheme.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a consequence of the works which we expect the contractor to complete by the end of the month.”
