Art lovers will be delighted to hear that some fascinating contemporary art exhibitions are coming soon to The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie.
The Lillie Art Gallery is the only Scottish venue this year to be showing ‘Futureproof 2016’, which is an annual showcase of new talent in photographic image-making selected from across Scotland’s photography and fine art degree courses. This will be on display from July 9 to August 11. In association with Streetlevel Glasgow.
There will also be an exhibition by St Petersburg artist Elena Knox called ‘Hide-and-Seek’ from July 9 to August 11.
This series of drawings and paintings began as an attempt to portray the complexity of a child’s life, which is shaped and controlled by adults. It focuses on the influence of the environment on the vulnerable and sensitive child’s nature.
James Higgins, team leader at The Lillie Art Gallery, said: “Elena’s paintings are really beautiful and very evocative.
“We are sure people will really love seeing them.”
You will also be able to see ‘Box of Delights’ - selection of ceramics and applied art from the gallery’s permanent collection from June 4 to August 12.
These exhibitions will open from 1.30pm on Saturday, July 9 to give visitors the chance to meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments.
The Lillie Art Gallery is on Station Road, Milngavie, G62 8BZ.
