If you want to improve your CV, make new friends and do your bit to fight poverty, then becoming a volunteer at Oxfam could be the answer.
All volunteers are given on-the-job training and the chance to learn new skills, develop existing talents and take on responsibility.
The range of possible roles at the Bearsden branch includes pricing donations, sorting stock, customer service and bookkeeping/treasurer.
The options are endless and some, such as being a volunteer recruiter, don’t even involve being in the shop.
Sally Mulholland, Bearsden branch manager, said: “This shop could not exist without our team of kind, talented and dedicated volunteers.
“Some people just stay with us until they get jobs or go to university and one special volunteer has been here for 36 years.
“As we are such a busy shop we need to recruit more helpers. Each and every volunteer will be greeted by friendly faces and a warm welcome.
“Whether you are looking to improve your CV, explore your interests, do your bit to help fight poverty, contribute to the local community or just meet a wonderful bunch of new people, why not make giving a shift here your aim for 2016.”
