A DETERMINED church is hoping to help couples keep their marriages strong with its new course.

Kirkintilloch Baptist Church will launch its latest marriage course later this month.

The seven week course gives couples the chance to enjoy a meal together and listen to a series of talks covering topics including the power of forgiveness, parents and in-laws, and the art of communication.

Reverend Andrew Giffen said: “People’s biggest fear is that the course is going to be about talking to other couples, or there is going to be counselling, but it’s not. It’s very discreet and fun.

“We recognise marriage is under threat in society and a lot of things make it difficult to stick together. This is our positive way of encouraging marriage and helping folk in the community.

“Some people come because their marriage is struggling and others have good marriages and want to make them better, we’re there for both. “

The course is open to all married couples, and starts at 7pm on Monday, April 25 in Kirkintilloch Baptist Church. For more information or to book a place call the church office on 0141 578 6006 or course co-ordinator Alan Caldwell on 07768 795 238.
