Man is beaten and stabbed on a busy street suffering serious injuries.

Detectives at Govan are appealing for information after a 28 year-old man was seriously assaulted and robbed on Paisley Road West.

Around 7.15am on Wednesday, April 12, the man was walking on Paisley Road West close to Midlock Street. At this time, four teenagers are reported to have approached and surrounded him. He was punched and kicked to the ground before being robbed of his mobile phone.

He was left with serious injuries, some of which were consistent with a bladed weapon or similar having been used during the attack.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was released following treatment.

Following the incident, the four teenage boys, all described as between the ages of 15 and 19, are reported to have made off in the direction of Midlock Street.

The first suspect is described as a white teenage boy, approximately 5ft 10” in height, with a slim athletic build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a light or grey jacket with his hood up, dark trousers and white trainers.

The second suspect is also described as a white teenage male, approximately 5ft 10” in height, and also with a slim build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a navy hooded top and dark trousers.

The third suspect is described as a much shorter white male, approximately 5ft 3” in height, who is described as being skinny. He is described as possibly being younger than the others, around the age of 15. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hooded top and a red scarf covering his face.

The fourth suspect can only be described as a white teenage boy, around 5ft 8”, and of a thin build.

Detective Constable Jessica Burns, Govan CID, who is leading the enquiry, said: “This was a shockingly violent attack which cannot be tolerated. We are doing everything we can to identify the teenagers involved and to ensure they are held to account for their actions.

“Given the time of day, we know that Paisley Road West was busy. Pedestrians and passing motorists may have witnessed this disturbance or seen a group of teenagers running along Midlock Street.

“We have been analysing CCTV and conducting door to door enquiries. At this time we are seeking anyone with information to come forward and speak to police if they witnessed anything which could help our ongoing investigation.
