A pioneering doctor collected his CBE recently after being named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of his
services to cardiology and the community.

Herald columnist Dr Frank Dunn is a consultant cardiologist at Stobhill Hospital, an Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow and President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

After spending the early years of his medical training in Glasgow and the USA, he took up a post at Stobhill in 1983 as a consultant
cardiologist and has cared for some patients for more than three decades.

Dr Dunn, pictured with his family, writes a regular column for the Kirkintilloch Herald and the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald, and said he was “delighted” to receive the award.
