Driver charged after accident and alleged thief assaults shop staff

POLICE have charged a driver after a 14-year-old girl was struck by a car.

The accident happened in Crow Road, Lennoxtown, on Friday, May 25, at around 5.30pm.

The girl is thought to have suffered minor injuries.

An 18-year-old boy has been charged with driving without due care and attention.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man has been charged with shoplifting and assault.

The alleged incident took place at the Superdrug shop, in Bishopbriggs, on Saturday, May 26, at around 2pm.

It’s alleged the man assaulted two staff members when they confronted him.
