With just a week until the deadline to claim their winnings expires, a lucky player in East Dunbartonshire is being urged by The National Lottery not to run away from a £1million windfall.

The player, and two other unsuspecting individuals from Fife, each scooped £1 million from EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draws in the summer of last year.

All have yet to jog forward to lift the January blues and make 2014 a year to remember.

With the promise that life really could be a beach for the unsuspecting millionaires, The National Lottery is urging the East Dunbartonshire player to re-check their tickets and dash forward to claim their prize.

For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection printed on their ticket.

Two of the winning tickets are from the special draw on July 26, 2013, when 100 lucky players were guaranteed winners of £1 million each – one was bought in East Dunbartonshire and the other in Fife.

The other lucky winner from Fife has won £1 million from the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw on Tuesday, July 23.

The ticket-holder from the draw on July 23 has until 11pm this coming Sunday (January 19) to claim, whilst the deadline for the ticket-holders from the draw on July 26, is 11pm next Wednesday (January 22).

The winning raffle number from the East Dunbartonshire area for the July 26, 2013 draw is CBT475280.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “There are three lucky winners in Scotland, including one in East Dunbartonshire, walking around not knowing they are millionaires.

“Though the clock is ticking, there is still time for players to re-check their tickets and, for a lucky trio, to make 2014 a year to remember as Scotland’s newest millionaires.

“We urge every player to check their bags, coat pockets, even down the back of the sofa and in their cupboards – the winning tickets could be tucked away in any of these places.

“EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle is life-changing and we are desperate to give our ticket-holder in East Dunbartonshire one last chance to race into run the New Year as a millionaire.”

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.

Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.

If no-one comes forward with the winning tickets before the prize claim deadlines, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to the National Lottery Good Causes – adding to the £31 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.
