Staff have bid a poignant farewell to a much-loved hospital.
More than 400 workers from Stobhill Hospital attended a party arranged by theatre sister Grace Carr and staff nurse Liz Simpson at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow to mark the closure of in-patient services and the casualty department at the facility.
The evening included a special dinner, music and talks from two of the hospital’s longest standing practitioners - consultant surgeon Mr John Smith and cardiologist Dr Frank Dunn.
Grace, who has worked at the hospital for 10 years, said: “It was a fabulous night and a fitting send-off.
“This hospital means so much to people and we felt it was too big a thing to just fade away. Stobhill is such a community and people have appreciated the chance to say a proper goodbye.”
