Colin Barrie from Caulder’s Garden Centre gave an interesting talk about winter colour in the garden at a recent meeting of Kirkintilloch Horticultural Society.
He brought several plants to illustrate his points and recommended Japanese maples, euonymous, nandina, leucothoe and hebe rhubarb and custard for foliage colours. For flowering plants, winter pansies and violas.
This month’s meeting is on November 20 at 7.30pm, in Enterprise House, Southbank Business Park, Kirkintilloch at 7.30pm.
The speaker will be Mr David Ferguson, National Trust for Scotland, who will be speaking on climbing plants.
