An MSP wants local young people to consider a career at the Scottish Parliament.

There are 20 new apprenticeship positions opening up at the parliament in Edinburgh for 16 to 24-year-olds.

Strathkelvin and Bearsden MSP Fiona McLeod said: “The Scottish Parliament is a vibrant and innovative work place and these apprenticeship places would be a great opportunity which I would love local young people to apply for.”

More information about the apprenticeships and details on how to apply can be found on the website www.scottish.parliament.uk/apprenticeships

Ms McLeod said: “The website answers almost any question you could ask.

“The closing date for applications is Sunday, December 7 and any eligible young person can apply for the first intake of apprenticeships to start next year, lasting for 24 months.

“Don’t worry about travelling to Edinburgh, as there is a scheme to help you with your travel costs.”

Ms McLeod added: “I would love to see some of our ambitious young people apply for these positions as I see them as a first class stepping stone to an excellent career.”
