Householders to pick up the keys to their new council homes early in New Year

Tenants are just weeks away from picking up the keys to their brand new council homes in Chryston.

The 27 houses at Lanrig Road have been build for older people, and are a mixture of flats and bungalows.

The £2.5 million site is due to be completed and occupied in January.

Local councillor John McLaren said that the houses had all been allocated to the over 60s and that they would be occupied just after the New Year.

The council is building 1,150 new homes across North Lanarkshire.
