AN eco-friendly pupil’s dream garden has been turned into a reality.
Budding artist Jade Gargano (10) from Lenzie Moss Primary took top spot in a competition which asked pupils to create the perfect garden for the main showhome at Cala’s Woodilee Village, built on the former Woodilee Hospital site.
After Jade’s entry was selected, the Cala gardeners got to work turning the winning design into a reality.
Jade was recently invited to the showhome to see how the creation turned out and to be presented with her prize of a £50 book voucher.
P6 pupil Jade said: “It was great to see my garden in real life – it looks great and is just what I imagined. I plan to take my family down soon to see it and hope the person who buys the house will take good care of it.”
Margaret McHugh, sales advisor for Woodilee Village, was on hand during Jade’s visit to present her with her prize.
She added: “I am very impressed with Jade’s drawing and delighted with how it has turned out. Many of our visitors comment on how beautiful the garden is in our Ranald Showhome so a big well done to Jade for her efforts.
“Cala is keen to build relationships with the local community in Lenzie so it has been a fantastic project in helping us build friendships with local primary schools.”
