A single mum who rose to the top of her profession, rubbed shoulders with George Clooney at a prestigious awards ceremony recently.
Bishopbriggs woman Jennifer Paice, Chief Executive of deposit holding firm Safe Deposits Scotland was short-listed for Female Business Leader of the Year at the Scottish Business Awards.
Hollywood A-Lister George was the VIP guest at the event in Edinburgh.
Safe Deposits Scotland started in 2012 and has risen to become the largest of its kind in Scotland.
Under Jennifer’s leadership, the firm helps to protect the deposits of more than 92,500 tenants across the country, amounting to more than £67.5 million.
More than 2,000 business men and women attended the awards in Edinburgh last week, hosted by TV comedian Rob Bryson and with speakers Sir Chris Hoy and Judy Murray.
They also took part in a charity fundraising auction, which featured prizes including lunch with Arnold Schwarzenneger and golf with former US President Bill Clinton.
It is hoped the event will generate more than £1 million for good causes.
In July this year, Jennifer, who has two young boys, was also appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors of the charity One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS).
She said: “I’ve long since admired the work carried out by OPFS in representing Scotland’s single parent families.
“I look forward to helping the charity on its mission.
“That is to ensure more single parents have the support, contacts and confidence needed to play a full part in Scotland’s economic and social life.”
