Joined up working strategy for local authority and police

East Dunbartonshire Council’s Community Protection Services are now being aligned with those of Police Scotland.

Community Protection Service council employees will now be jointly managed by the Police Chief Inspector and the Community Protection Manager based in Kirkintilloch Police Station.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “By aligning our Community Protection Service - which includes Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Community Safety – to Police Scotland we will be able to work more effectively together addressing issues that require both organisations to resolve. ”
