Katrina is snap happy in the Glen
In fact, Katrina Martin who originally hails from Norfolk has been branded as a Young Champion for Cumbernauld as she participates in a scheme which aims to record the restoration of natural areas.This has the backing of North Lanarkshire Council. the John Muir Trust and the Scottish Wildife Trust.
It will involve 20 young photographers across the UK as part of the 2020 Vision scheme for photographers who will share their expertise with up-and-coming snappers like Katrina.

Hide AdCumbernauld Glen will be the focus of Katrina’s project – and this delicate image of snowdrops with their hopeful message of oncoming springtime is the first image she has taken.
Katrina told the News: “Cumbernauld has been specifically chosen as an urban environment which incorporates nature reserves and wild spaces and this area is really lucky to have so many nature reserves containing a variety of habitats and wildlife.”
“I hope my photography will capture the important links between people and nature and inspire a greater appreciation for the beauty on our doorstep,” she added.
Meanwhile it transpires that Katrina is looking for models to be photographed engaged in various outdoor activities within the glen.
