COUNCIL chiefs are still mulling over pleas to close a lane being used as a drinking den.
East Dunbartonshire Council has received two petitions from residents in Cedar Road, Bishopbriggs, asking for gates to be installed on the footpath behind their homes.
However, the local authority says there will be legal implications in closing the lane because it gives access to greenspace.
The path could also be a right of way, because it has been in use for the past 20 years.
The lane closure will now be discussed at the next full council meeting on Thursday, January 19.
