The Scottish Socialist Party’s East Dunbartonshire branch is hosting an open public meeting about RISE - Scotland’s Left Alliance - in Kirkintilloch on Saturday.
The aim is to lay the groundwork for a local branch of what’s planned to be a national movement.
RISE is a new electoral initiative for the 2016 Scottish Parliament election, backed by the Scottish Socialist Party and other left organisations.
The organisers say the meeting, at Smith’s Hotel in David Donnelly Place at 11am, will be an informal chance to find out more about the group.
It will deal, for example, with what RISE, how the SSP is involved, and how others can get involved, as well as what it stands for and what its policies are.
A spokesman said: “All are welcome to help establish RISE East Dunbartonshire.”
